1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and HandleBy LLC ("Attune," "we," "us"), a Delaware limited liability company, and govern your use of the Attune iPhone app, the Attune Extractor macOS companion, and this website (together, the "Service"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. What Attune is—and what it isn't
Attune is an educational relationship companion. It uses attachment science and the Gottman method to help you communicate—rephrasing what you want to say, decoding what a partner might mean, checking in, and surfacing patterns over time.
Attune is not therapy, medical care, or a crisis service
- Attune does not provide medical, psychological, or professional advice, and using it does not create a therapist–client or other professional relationship.
- It is not a diagnostic tool. Attachment-style and relationship reads are educational reflections, not clinical assessments.
- It is not for emergencies. If you or someone else may be in danger or in crisis, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line right away.
Always use your own judgment, and seek a qualified professional for mental-health, medical, legal, or safety decisions.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Attune. By using the Service you represent that you are 18 or older and able to enter into these Terms.
4. Your account
Some features require an Attune account. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your credentials secure, and to be responsible for activity under your account. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (see the Privacy Policy). Tell us promptly at hi@theattune.app if you suspect unauthorized use.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Attune offers paid auto-renewing subscriptions (monthly and annual plans). The quiz and your results are free; full access requires a subscription. There is no free trial.
- Billing is through Apple. Purchases are processed by the App Store under your Apple ID. Current prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store subscription settings. Deleting your Attune account does not cancel your subscription—cancel it separately through Apple.
- Refunds. Payments are handled by Apple, and refunds are subject to Apple's policies. We generally cannot issue refunds directly.
- One entitlement, both apps. A single subscription unlocks Attune on your iPhone and the Mac companion through your account.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service unlawfully, or to harass, abuse, threaten, deceive, or harm anyone;
- Submit content you don't have the right to use, or use the Service to violate someone else's privacy or rights;
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, overload, probe, or circumvent the Service or its security or usage limits;
- Use the Service to build a competing product, or resell or redistribute it;
- Misrepresent AI-generated output as professional advice from a licensed practitioner.
7. Content you submit
The Service lets you submit content—messages, drafts, screenshots, voice recordings, and conversation history ("Your Content"). You keep ownership of Your Content. You grant us a limited license to process it solely to operate and provide the Service to you (including sending it to the service providers described in our Privacy Policy to generate your results). You represent that you have the right to submit Your Content, including any conversations involving other people, and that doing so doesn't break the law or any agreement. We do not use Your Content to advertise, and we do not sell it.
8. Our intellectual property
The Service—including the app, its design, the Attune name and brand, and our curated knowledge base—is owned by HandleBy LLC and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. The insights and outputs Attune generates for you are yours to use for that purpose.
9. AI-generated content
Attune's rewrites, reads, coaching, and analysis are generated by AI and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or not right for your situation. They are suggestions to consider, not instructions to follow, and not a substitute for your own judgment or professional advice. You are responsible for what you choose to say or do.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and is incorporated into these Terms.
11. Third-party services
The Service depends on third parties (such as Apple, and the providers listed in our Privacy Policy). Your use of the App Store and your Apple ID is governed by Apple's terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their availability can affect the Service.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that its output will be accurate or suitable for any purpose. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HandleBy LLC and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, or profits, arising from or related to your use of the Service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HandleBy LLC from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including content licenses you granted, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law—will survive.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of Attune after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that isn't otherwise resolved, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
